How to boost audio volume online — 4 steps

  1. Upload audio: drag or pick an MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, or OGG file (up to 100 MB).
  2. Choose a mode: "Manual (dB)" to slide the level yourself, or "Auto normalize" to push to the safe maximum.
  3. Set value & bitrate: e.g. +6 dB for twice as loud; 192 kbps output is a good balance.
  4. Apply & download: preview, then download the MP3 — no watermark, no signup.

The tool runs entirely in your browser, so there is nothing to install and your files are never uploaded. Boosting volume is great when a voice recording is too quiet, a downloaded track is weak, or you need to normalize multiple files to the same loudness before joining. It is completely free with no watermark.

When to boost / normalize?

Frequently asked questions

How much can I boost the volume?

You can adjust manually from -20 dB to +20 dB. Each +6 dB roughly doubles perceived loudness. The tool clamps the output to avoid distortion when pushed too high.

What is Normalize?

Normalize mode finds the loudest peak in the file and raises everything close to the 0 dB maximum. It is the safe way to maximize loudness without clipping, ideal when you are unsure how many dB to add.

Can it lower the volume too?

Yes. Drag the slider to a negative value (e.g. -6 dB, -12 dB) to make a file quieter — useful when the source is too loud or harsh.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything is processed with the Web Audio API + lamejs in your browser. Your files never leave your device, and it is free with no watermark.

What input and output formats are supported?

It accepts MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, and OGG, and exports MP3 at 96-320 kbps (192 kbps is the balanced default).

Does boosting reduce quality?

Adding gain does not inherently degrade quality, but pushing into clipping causes distortion. Use Normalize or a moderate level to keep the sound clean.
