How does the silence remover work?
It analyzes loudness in 20ms windows and marks parts below your silence threshold. If a silent stretch is longer than the minimum duration, its interior is cut while a small padding is kept on each side so speech is not clipped.
What threshold should I use?
The default -45 dB suits most voice recordings. If the background is a bit noisy, move toward -30 dB (stricter); if the voice is quiet or you want more sensitivity, move toward -60 dB.
What is the "minimum length to cut"?
Only silent stretches longer than this value get cut. Use 0.5s to keep short natural pauses, or lower it to trim small breaths too.
What is "keep padding" for?
It keeps a short margin (e.g. 0.1s) on each side of every cut so words do not run together or get clipped at the start/end.
