I am a software engineer with over 15 years in the IT industry, working across web, backend and data processing. Outside of work I keep a personal blog at hosyminh.com, where I write about technology, programming and everything around it.
I build and maintain TaoClip, a free suite of online image, video and audio tools. My work spans interface design, writing the FFmpeg media pipeline, integrating open-source AI models, and running the servers that handle rendering jobs.
I also write every guide on the site. They are not rewrites of material from elsewhere: each workflow described is one I have run myself on TaoClip's own tools, with the exact parameters and limitations stated in the article.
What I work on
- Video processing — FFmpeg pipelines for trimming, merging, compression, aspect-ratio changes, watermarking and subtitle burn-in.
- Audio processing — vocal separation, noise reduction, loudness normalisation, and BPM analysis for beat syncing.
- Image processing — compression, format conversion, background removal and AI upscaling.
- Web development — Astro, Svelte, TypeScript, and browser-first processing architecture.
How I write these guides
I try to hold every article on TaoClip to three rules:
- State the limits. No tool does everything. When an approach will cost you quality or simply does not fit your case, the article says so instead of glossing over it.
- Give real numbers. Guides include concrete parameters — bitrates, resolutions, aspect ratios — rather than vague advice like "pick high quality".
- Update when the tool changes. When a TaoClip tool changes behaviour, the guides that reference it are revised to match.
