Frequently asked questions
How does the Robot voice effect work?
It uses ring modulation — multiplying the audio signal by a low-frequency wave, producing the characteristic metallic timbre of a robot voice.
Why do Deep/Chipmunk also change speed?
This is the classic playbackRate effect — slowing playback down deepens the voice (troll voice), speeding it up raises it (chipmunk). If you want to change pitch while KEEPING the original speed, use our separate Speed/Pitch tool.
What sound does the Cave effect create?
It simulates echo in a large space using delay + feedback, giving the feeling of speaking in a cave or a large cathedral.
